HORSX Holdings LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the HelpVote mobile application (the "App") and the website helpvote.app (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
By using HelpVote, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1.3 Information from Third-Party Services
When you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo as authorized by you through those services. We do not receive your password.
2. How We Use Your Information
| Purpose | Legal Basis (GDPR) |
| Provide, maintain, and improve the Service | Contract performance |
| Personalize your content feed and recommendations | Legitimate interest |
| Display your profile and voting activity to other users | Contract performance |
| Send push notifications about votes, comments, and community activity | Consent |
| Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents | Legitimate interest |

3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data for money, and we do not currently share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this ever changes — for example, under new ownership or a new business model — we will update this policy, tell you in advance, and, where the law requires it (including under the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), give you the ability to opt out or provide fresh consent before any such use begins.
We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:
- With Other Users: Your display name, profile photo, country flag, votes, comments, and posted content are visible to the HelpVote community as part of the Service's core functionality.
- Service Providers: We use the following third-party services that process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, cloud database (Firestore), file storage, push notifications (FCM). See Firebase Privacy Information.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reporting and performance diagnostics. Collects device model, OS version, and crash stack traces. No personal data is included in crash reports.
- Google Cloud Vision API: Image content moderation to detect inappropriate content and ensure community safety. Uploaded images are analyzed and not stored by Google beyond the moderation process.
- Google Perspective API: We use the Perspective API to analyze user-generated text for toxicity and policy violations. Text content is sent to Google servers for analysis. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare for content delivery (CDN), edge computing, and web security. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request data. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- ipapi.co: IP-based geolocation to determine your country for community features (e.g., local leaderboard). Only your country code is stored — your IP address is not retained by us.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers & Change of Control: HelpVote is operated by HORSX Holdings LLC. As our business evolves, your personal information and User Content may be transferred to, or acquired by, a successor or acquiring entity as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, sale of equity, bankruptcy, or similar transaction. Under the CCPA/CPRA, a transfer of personal information as an asset that is part of such a transaction is not a "sale" of personal information, and no opt-out is required for that transfer. During due diligence we share only the minimum data necessary, where practicable in aggregated or pseudonymized form under confidentiality obligations. Any successor will remain bound by this Privacy Policy with respect to information collected before the transfer, unless and until you are given notice of a materially different policy and, where the law requires it, your consent is obtained. We will notify you (by in-app notice or email) before your personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy. Our legal basis for this transfer is our legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in transferring the business as a going concern; you may object as described in "Your Rights."
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in
- Firestore Security Rules to restrict unauthorized data access
- Regular security reviews and monitoring
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
- Active Accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active and the Service is in use.
- Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, we permanently remove all personal data, posts, votes, and comments within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained.
- Backups: Data in backups is automatically purged following our retention schedule (up to 90 days).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
For All Users
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information via your Profile settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from Profile > Settings > Delete Account.
- Opt-Out of Notifications: Manage push notification preferences in your device settings.
For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)
- Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Restriction of Processing: Request that we limit processing of your data.

- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, where "sharing" means disclosure for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information.
- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Our current "sell/share" status. At this time, HelpVote does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is currently nothing to opt out of. If we ever begin to sell or share personal information — for example, if the Service later introduces advertising or is acquired by a company that does — we will update this policy, provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism, and honor opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as required by law, before any such activity begins.
To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app settings or contact us at [email protected].
7. International Data Transfers
If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States where our servers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission, where applicable.
8. Children's Privacy
HelpVote is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at [email protected].
9. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
10. Cookies and Tracking
The HelpVote mobile app does not use cookies for tracking. Our website (helpvote.app) is a static informational site that currently sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising pixels, or session tracking. We do not currently use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers. If we ever introduce cookies or trackers that require consent, we will present a cookie/consent notice as required by law.
11. App Tracking and Advertising
At this time, HelpVote does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not use any advertising SDKs, does not participate in any ad networks, and does not collect your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA on iOS or Advertising ID on Android). There is no cross-app tracking, no behavioral advertising, and no data shared with ad brokers today. If this ever changes — for example, under new ownership or a new business model — we will update this policy and, where required (including the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS and applicable consent under the GDPR/ePrivacy rules), request your permission before any such tracking or advertising begins.
12. Content Moderation and Safety
To maintain a safe community, we use automated content moderation systems to review user-generated content (photos and text). This includes:
- Automated text analysis for harmful content (hate speech, harassment, spam)
- Automated image analysis via Google Cloud Vision API for inappropriate visual content
- User reporting mechanisms for flagging content or users
- Automated and manual review processes for reported content
We comply with applicable laws regarding the detection and reporting of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Content identified as potential CSAM is immediately removed and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline at www.missingkids.org/cybertipline, as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
13. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through the App:
- Open HelpVote and go to the Profile tab
- Scroll down and tap Settings
- Tap Privacy & Data
- Tap Delete My Account
- Confirm deletion
When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your personal data, including your profile, posts, photos, votes, comments, and notification history. This action is irreversible. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained. Deletion is processed immediately, with backup data purged within 90 days.
You may also request account deletion by emailing [email protected].
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
